PURPOSE:To ensure that a clear transfer image may be easily formed even on a sheet with low smoothness level and at the same time, running cost is also minimized by limiting the adhesive strength and shearing strength of a combined layer consisting of an ink layer, or a combined form of a peel-off layer and an ink layer to their respectively specified values. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording medium consists of a thermally fusible ink layer 3 which is provided directly on a support 2 or through a peel- off layer 5. The shearing strength of an ink layer 3, or a combined form of a peel-off layer 5 and the ink layer 3 is set to 8 to 20gf/cm, and the adhesive strength is set to 1.0 to 2.0gf/cm. Subsequently, the shelf life stability of the medium when not used increases, and the ink layer does not peel off. In addition, data can be clearly printed even on a sheet with inferior smoothness such as recycled paper and also the running cost can be reduced, Further, it is possible to print an image without a noise, if it is scanned using a pen scanner and thus improve the print quality of the image. |
