PURPOSE:To obtain an impregnating liquid to be used for production of a grindstone excellent in water resistance, grinding properties and lapping properties by incorporating thereinto a phenolic resin, PVA, an aldehyde and an acid catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The title liquid contains (A) a phenolic resin, (B) PVA, (C) an aldehyde (e.g. acetaldehyde), and (D) an acid catalyst (e.g. hydrochloric acid or p-toluenesulfonic acid). The amt. of the component B is 5-95 pts.wt. based 100 pts.wt. component A, while the amt. of the component C is 5-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. component B. The impregnating liquid has a good affinity for a grindstone, as different from conventional impregnating liquid contg. only a phenolic resin, to cause no unevenness. As a result, the final product is uniform in hardness, water resistance, etc., and undergoes no cracking during heating. |
