PURPOSE:To provide the process for production of the color filters which do not generate steep level differences between light shielding parts and picture elements. CONSTITUTION:Colored resists 6 are applied on the light shielding parts 2 formed on a glass substrate 1 consisting of glass, etc., and a substrate 1 contg. these light shielding parts 2 and thereafter, the areas below the apertures for forming the picture elements formed by the light shielding parts 2 on the substrate 1 are exposed as exposing regions. After the substrate is rotated, the areas above the apertures for forming the picture elements formed by the light shielding parts 2 on the substrate 1 are exposed as exposing areas. The disconnection of the transparent conductive film 5 occurring in the steep level differences of the picture elements and the light shielding parts 2, the reduction in the film thickness thereof and the increase in the resistance of the transparent conductive film 5 generated by the generation of cracks are prevented in this way and the large-area display having high quality is obtd. |
