摘要 Weft insertion in a jet loom is controlled by first checking a data store for the relationship between yarn unwinding speed and jet pressure and then calculating the required settings for the current processing conditions. The process can be used with a single jet or with an arrangement of secondary jets. Control is effected by adjusting jet pressure and timing. Pref. air jet loom has a main jet (1) supplying weft yarn (Y) whose flight is maintained by secondary jets (16) placed in six groups (G1-G6). A microcomputer (20) has a data store (20c) for the relationship calculated by the processor (20b) based on the input from sensors (21,22,23). When new conditions have to be set up, the variables are keyed into an input device, e.g. a keyboard (24), and the required processing coditions are calculated by a controller (20d) connected to acutators and timers (25). USE/ADVANTAGE - Reduces the operator skill required to set up conditions on automatic air jet looms by using a computer which can store data on the unwiding behaviour of the weft yarn.
