<p>PURPOSE:To provide a sensing device which enables sensing of cover opening/ closing and object existence/no existence by single means. CONSTITUTION:A sensing device is provided with a transport path 60 of transfer paper sheets P in a laser beam printer body, a cover 8 integral with the printer body, to be opened or closed freely, at a position facing the transport path 60 of the printer body, a lever/crank, in the vicinity of the transport path 60, for freely actuating the cover to a first position where there is no transfer paper sheet P in the transport path 60 and the cover 8 is opened, a second position where there is a transfer paper sheet P in the transport path 60 and a third position where the cover 8 is closed, and a single photo-interrupter 6 for sensing existence/no existence of the transfer paper sheet P and cover 8 opening closing on the basis of the respective lever/crank positions.</p> |
