<p>The actuator comprises, coupled to the rotary shaft (2) of the steering wheel (1), a kinematic chain comprising an angular position sensor (5), a torque limiter (9), a device (10) for measuring the resultant torque exerted on the spindle (2), and an electric motor (8) able to apply a variable torque to the said shaft (2) as a function of a control signal. A subtractor (S2), which receives a datum signal (C0) derived by a computer and the signal supplied by the measurement device (10) delivers an error signal ( epsilon ) serving to provide control of the motor (8). The invention applies especially to creating artificial feel on the steering wheel of a vehicle. <IMAGE></p> |
