PURPOSE:To reduce the control traffic for position registration, to set an effective position registration area, and to average the load of the device comprising the mobile communication system. CONSTITUTION:The dublicated position registration area PAi is autonomous distributedly decided by a radio base station BSi in the mobile communication system. The mobile device performs the position registration when moved to a radio zone Zi not included in the holding position registration area PAi. The mobile device stores the passed radio zone Zi after the position registration as path information, and the path information is notified to the radio base station BSi at the time of the next position registration. In this case, the radio base station BSi incorporates a radio zone Z with much path information in the position registration area PAi. There is a system where a line exchange station 4 sends the calling signals against the mobile device to all the radio base station BS. According to the amount of the control traffic, the size of the self position registration area PAi can be increased and decreased.
