COATED LENS IN EYE AND COATING COMPOSITION THEREFOR

PURPOSE: To achieve a substantial progress of a technique for transplanting an intraocular implant into human eyes by arranging the intraocular implant to comprise a lens body and two haptics adhered to the lens body or integrally formed thereon optionally to let the haptics exist at least at a part of the surface of the intraocular implant. CONSTITUTION: A coating is applied on an intraocular implant having haptics fixed on or integrally placed in the intraocular implant or on more than haptics. A coating material hereinused is made effective for both the intraocular implant and the haptics. The coating herein used contains at least one substance to be released into human eyes at a specified adjusted rate together with the coating material and is made hydrophilic or compatible with an implant material or a haptics material coated or with the both thereof. The coating is also non- toxic for human eyes or biologically compatible. The coating is made to let at least one substance be released into human eyes by a specified effective amount during a specified period.
