PURPOSE:To provide a recording material which allows non-contact, high-speed and high-resolution thermal recording using a laser beam and a technique of performing high-speed and high-resolution thermal recording using a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:A recording material consists of a light absorptive layer containing at least, a microcapsule which envelops a light absorptive substance and a binder as a core material and a solid sensitizer which causes a microcapsule wall to swell by fusion provided on a support. In addition, a technique to record an image uses the recording material and a laser beam. After the irradiation of the light absorptive layer of the recording material with a laser beam in an image pattern, an image receiving sheet is attached closely to the light absorptive layer. Next, the image receiving sheet is pressed to allow transfer of a latent image formed on the light absorptive layer to the image receiving sheet in accordance with the exposure of the laser beam to obtain a visible image as an image formation technique. |
