An underwater structure (1), such as the diaphragm of an ultrasonic transmitter, can be retained in the event of an explosion by a device which comprises movable-head (37) fixed cylinders (15); the respective courses and forms of a part of the structure and of a part (40, 41) of the head (37) are such that, passing from its upstream position to its downstream position under the effect of the explosion, the structure (1) interferes with the head (37) and moves it so that the head (37) prevents the free return of the structure (1). <IMAGE>
