COMPOSITE VIBRATION DAMPING MATERIAL EXCELLENT IN RUSTPROOFNESS AND METHOD FOR ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide a composite vibration damping material having an intermediate resin layer consisting of the thermoplastic resin cross-linked with cross- linking agent and less liable to interfacial separation upon rupture and, therefore, excellent in rustproofness. CONSTITUTION:The structure of a composite vibration damping material is so formed as to impart the cross-linking density distributed in the thickness direction of the intermediate resin layer and make the cross-linking density of the inner resin layer smaller than that of the outer resin layer in contact with a metal plate. A method for production of the composite vibration damping material comprises forming the layers having a cross-linking agent interposed between the thermoplastic resin layer and the metal plate and pressing them together under heat.
