PURPOSE:To provide the process for producing the black matrix having a small film thickness and low reflectivity at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:Paste contg. metal oxide particles of copper oxide, etc., and glass frit as fillers is formed by a printing method between a glass substrate 11 and transparent electrodes 13 formed thereon and thereafter, this substrate is heated to about 500 deg.C in air or oxygen, by which the black matrix 14 consisting of CuO (black) and glass components is produced. Any metal oxides having light shieldability are usable, the metal oxide particles consisting of metal elements, such as IB, VB, VIB, VIIB, and VIII in particular are excellent. The amt. of the glass frit to be mixed is preferably >=20wt.% and <=50wt.% of the total compsn. after calcination. |
