PURPOSE:To enhance thermal transfer capacity by forming a dye donating layer containing a thermal transfer dye represented by a specific general formula on a support. CONSTITUTION:The thermal transfer dye contained in the thermal transfer dye-donating layer formed on a support is composed of a compound represented by the formula I [wherein Q is an atomic group (excepting quinonemonoimide and naphthoquinonemonoimide structures) necessary for that the compound I has absorption in a visible region and/or a near infrared region, R<1> is a hydrogen atom or a non-metal substituent, R<2> and R<3> are respectively independently selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group and may be mutually bonded to form a ring structure]. |
