PURPOSE:To easily and remarkably enhance the critical current density and mechanical strength of a ceramic superconductor. CONSTITUTION:A fluctuating magnetic field is impressed to a starting material compsn. at the time of melting by heating and a fixed magnetic field is impressed at the time of slow cooling from the half-melting temp. to room temp. Growing nuclei of a ceramic superconducting phase can be uniformly dispersed, pores formed by generated gas can be finely and uniformly dispersed and crystals can be oriented in a prescribed direction. By the synergistic effect of the three results, high critical current density and high mechanical strength are obtd. |
