METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PURIFICATION OF WASTEWATER

The proposed method provides for preliminary feeding into the wastewater a powdered material capable of producing a galvanic pair with iron. Then the liquid to be treated is passed through a stationary porous layer of particles of iron to which is fed the electric current of density of 0.1-0.5 A/dm<2>, while simultaneously carrying out galvanocoagulation, electrocoagulation and ion separation into analyte and catalyte which are then mixed together and the treated liquid is clarified. In the proposed device a generally known electrolyzer is used with an ion-permeable membrane (8) mounted inside it coaxially to its casing (7) and dividing it into an anode and a cathode chamber (9, 10). The anode chamber contains a stationary layer of iron particles contacting with a rod (12) of a current-conducting material located eccentrically in the centre of the anode chamber (9) and connected to the positive pole of the electric power source. The cathode and the anode chamber (10, 9) at their lower parts form a mixing chamber (14) connected to an arrangement (6) for clarification of the treated liquid.
