PURPOSE:To obtain a radiograph information reader which can read radiograph information from a large-sized stimulable phosphor sheet, which is inexpensive and which is made small in size and light in weight by relatively moving a scanning read unit and the stimulable phosphor sheet. CONSTITUTION:This reader is provided with a drum supporting means 11 which supports the stimulable phosphor sheet 10, a stimulating light scanning means which allows stimulating light to perform main scanning, and a scanning read unit 5 provided with a photoelectric detection means 17 for photoelectrically detecting stimulated luminescence 15 emitted from a spot for stimulating and irradiating the sheet 10. Then, a scanning area changing means is provided, which supports the unit 5 and the sheet 10 and which moves them relatively in a main scanning direction in accordance with the rotation of the drum-like supporting means 11 which freely rotates. Then, the stimulating light scanning width of the unit 5 is made small to read the sheet 10 by one part, and then the unit 5 and the sheet 10 are relatively moved to change the stimulating light scanning area, so that radiograph information is read all over the surface of the sheet 10. |
