PURPOSE:To prevent a strap from its melting and break by bringing a separator into contact with a lower part of the strap, in the case of a lead-acid battery of using a Pb-Sb system alloy for a positive pole lattice and a Pb-Ca system alloy for a negative pole lattice. CONSTITUTION:A strap 1, consisting of Pb-Sb system alloy, is connected to an edge part upper end of a negative plate 2 consisting of Pb-Ca system alloy. Also an edge part of a positive plate 3, consisting of Pb-Sb system alloy, is connected similarly to the strap 1. A microporous synthetic resin separator 4 is interposed between the negative and positive plates 2, 3 to provide constitution such that an upper end of the separator 4 is brought into contact with a lower part of the strap 1. In this way, the strap 1 is always placed in a condition of acid atmosphere and suppressed from melting. |
