PURPOSE:To allow the formation of uniformly developed images by preventing the generation of fading in high-temp. and high-humidity environment. CONSTITUTION:This developer for developing electrostatic latent images is used in an image forming method for developing the electrostatic latent images by transporting the developer for developing the electrostatic latent images by a developer carrying member which has a surface layer formed of a resin layer contg. at least conductive fine particles and/or solid lubricant and has >=10 gamma (inclination [Y/eV]) in the work function measurement of the surface of the surface layer. The above-mentioned developer contains a toner having 10 to 15mum weight average grain size D4, <=30number% amt. of fine powder (<=6.35mum grain size), <=4wt.% amt. of coarse powder (>=20.2mum powder size), and <=10 MI value (melt index value).
