Detergent compsn. comprises nonionic surfactant; partly or completely water-soluble PVP-based polymer component (A); builders; other usual components and (the new feature) an additional water-soluble cationic cpd. (I). The compsn. contains no anionic-active cpds. and is (practically) free of strong electrolytes. Pref. (A) is 0.5-8(1-4)wt.% and (I) is 0.01-2(0.01-0.5)wt.% of a 10-18C alkylpyridinium salt, with wt. ratio 10-50(20-40):1.
