PURPOSE:To make the color developability of ink and the light fastness of an image excellent and to keep the effect of light fastness in ink jet recording by providing an org. compound containing at least one kind of atoms selected from bromine, iodine and astatin in a base material and/or on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:An org. compound containing at least one kind of atoms selected from bromine, iodine and astatin is allowed to be present in a base material and/or on the surface thereof. This org. compound means a compound containing a covalent bond of bromine, iodine or astatin and a carbon atom in its molecule or a compound containing Br<->, I<-> or At<-> as the counter ion of a compound containing a cationic group in its molecule. As a result, a recording medium imparting an image excellent in color developability and light fastness in ink jet recording using a water-soluble dye can be obtained. |
