PURPOSE: To produce relief images provided with improved image fidelity and resolution. CONSTITUTION: This method includes the position setting of images for generating negative transparency right adjacent and parallel in effect to a photosetting material layer 40 and the position setting of at least one louver 10 provided with plural open cells 12 at a position on the opposite side of the photosetting material layer 40 and on the side part of a negative parallel to the photosetting material layer. The respective open cells 12 are projected through the louver 10 (34) along an axis vertical to the negative 38 and a reflection cell wall contour formed for the reflection and direction change of energy radiation made incident onto the cell in a direction more normal to a negative surface is provided. Further, radiation energy capable of setting the photosetting material is passed through the louver and the negative to the photosetting material layer 40 for the time sufficient for forming the relief images latent in the photosetting material layer.
