<p>Disclosed ire thienopyridine derivatives of the formula (I): <CHEM> wherein one of A and B represents -S- and the other represents -CH=; R represents hydrogen or C1 - C6 alkyl; and Z represents pyridyl and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition or metal salts useful as immunoregulators and for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.</p>
