PURPOSE: To uniform axis direction lighting at an on-time, even after long period off by arranging amalgam patches properly inside a lamp, and monitoring and controlling patch temperatures. CONSTITUTION: Amalgam patches 40, 44, 42 are respectively incorporated into both ends and the center inside a lamp 22, and thermisters 40T, 44T, 42T and heater sleeves 46A to 46D are provided on the respective patches. Patch temperatures in correlation with the most suitable lamp operation temperature are continuously monitored through thermisters by a main controller 52, and simultaneously, the patches are maintained in a predetermined most suitable temperature by a controller circuit 50. Thereby lighting can be made uniform at an on-time, even after long period off. The output of an optical detector 56 and a reference signal is compared so that electric power is adjusted, so as to obtain a required lighting output level in a power source circuit 54. |
