This application relates to a braking device which can in particular be used for skates comprising a gaiter hinged to a body which is in turn associated with a supporting frame for one or more wheels. The structure comprises at least one rod-like member which is connected to the said gaiter and is slidably associated with the body. This rod-like member has one end which presses a braking member hinged to the frame towards the ground when the gaiter rotates.
