Method and frequency for measuring microwaves, in which first the frequency is reduced in a preliminary frequency divider, changes into an impulse signal, and then the impulses with a reduced frequency are counted in a unit time period and after considering the factor of division of the preliminary divider, the microwave frequency is defined, in particular, the strength of the input signal is measured (Sw) and the measurement of the frequency is made with the value of the strength of this signal above the sensitivity threshold of the measuring unit (Pgg), whereby this value is obtained from the memory of the measuring unit, and this value (Pfp) is defined from the characteristic of the sensitivity threshold as a function of the frequency (f), with consideration of small changes in the input signal in the vicinity of the sensitivity threshold, the characteristic (Pfp=f(f) is preliminarily removed for the given unit for measuring the frequency of microwaves and is recorded in its memory.<IMAGE>
