PURPOSE: To provide a method for simply testing a delta-sigma modulator. CONSTITUTION: The delta-sigma modulator 14 samples an input test signal at a first rate, inputs the sampled signal to the testing delta-sigma modulator, and outputs a digital signal representing the sampled signal to the modulator to be easily tested. The input signal is sampled at a second rate, and an error signal is generated according to the difference between the value of the output signal generated by the modulator and the value of the sampled signal obtained by sampling the input signal at the second rate. The error factor is compared with a predetermined value capable of confirming the suitable operation of the modulator.
