Elements are prepd. by (1) mixing (A) 70-95 pts. (all pts. wt.) open-pored blown glass sheres (I) of particle size 0.2-20 mm and bulk density 0.2-0.55 g/cub. cm with liq. mixt of (B) 4-30 pts. binding agent comprising bisphenol epoxide resin (II) and amine hardener (III) and (C) 0.5-5 pts. polysiloxane (IV) so that surface of (I) is wetted (2) filling into matrix corresp. to shape of element element, (3) through addn. of heat, bringing about reaction of (III) with (IV) and (II) to form cured foam structure in interstices between (I) which are enclosed by the foam.
