PURPOSE: To enhance the rigidity of an optical disk by casting a molten resin into the surface patterns of a metal mold, curing the resin and joining the resin to a substrate on the side of the resin opposite to the metal mold, then removing the resin and the substrate from the metal mold. CONSTITUTION: Plural recesses 14 are formed in concentric spiral tracks 16 on the front surface 12 of the metal mold 10 in such a manner that flat surface regions 18 remain between the recesses 14 discontinuously on the tracks 16. A glass disk 22 arrayed with video information as the bumps 24 of a series of photoresist of about 0.7μm in height and 1μm in a radial direction is used as a matrix 20. A release component is applied on the matrix 20 and is baked after drying. The matrix 20 is placed via a wax 34 of a buffer body on a heating unit 30 on which an Al block 32 is placed. The mixture composed of silicone rubber and a catalyst is poured onto the surface of the matrix 20 by the height of the spacer 36 and a glass plate 40 adhered with a primer compd. is placed on the spacers 36, 38. The rubber mixture is cured and is then separated from the matrix 20, by which the optical disk is obtd. |
