PURPOSE: To provide a proportioning device for forming a liquid composition from a plurality of liquid components. CONSTITUTION: A subchamber 12 is positioned in parallel with a main chamber 10 and liquid exceeding the capacity of the subchamber 12 overflows to the main chamber 10 through an upper outlet 16. Pressure sensors 28 and 48 are positioned orthogonal to and below the inlet flow of the liquid to the subchamber 12 and a reservoir 14. Such a positioning minimizes or eliminates detection of dynamic pressure generated by the liquid flow.
