The front clamp of a ski binding has a fixed housing (1) mounted on the ski. A ski-boot sole-holder consists of a pair of separate blades (3a,3b) holding the boot-toe on the ski and each of which is movable outwards against an elastic, calibrated system, when subjected to a lateral force of pre-set amount. A release mechanism is operated by an unbuckling piece and consists of at least one bolt as support for the blades. Two longitudinal arms (2a,b) are attached to a cross-bar (23) in the fixed housing (1) to form a quadrilateral. ADVANTAGE - The release mechanism enables the skier to remove his boot from the ski-binding by operating an unbuckling piece.
