In the assembly, the novelty is that one section of the pipette tube rests against an efficient heat conducting material whihc is its turn also rests against a heat conducting Peltier element; the temp.-controlled section of the pipette tube is spirally shaped or meanders; and the pipette tube is located between two metal plates with peaks and troughs matching those in the tube. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement provides a simple means by which the fluid in the pipette may be rapidly and precisely heated or cooled. The arrangement may be used in conjunction with both automatic or manual pipettes.
