The system for video camera includes a section (100) for detecting sample image, a section (200) for generating voltage to operate the diaphragm, A/D converter (300) for converting the operating voltage of the diaphragm into the digital signal, microprocessor (400) for controlling the opening state of diaphragm, D/A converter (500) for converting the control data of diaphragm state into the analog signal, sample and hold section (600). The method for operating the diaphragm is provided with a process for controlling the A/D converter, a process for storing the A/D converted value recognized as operating voltage of initial standard diaphragm, a process for detecting the voltage difference, a process for adjusting the closure of diaphragm.
