In order to fit, on a panel, a device such as a rotary fastening lock including a female component capable of being fitted over a male component, an original tool is proposed. This tool comprises two jaws (36, 38) one (36) of which includes a housing (40) capable of receiving a part of the male piece and terminated in a bearing surface (44). The other jaw (38) holds the female component against a bearing face (60), under the action of a magnet (64). In order for the fitting of the two components to be possible, they must exhibit a controlled relative angular orientation. To do this, an orientation member (46), for example, is provided, interacting with a head of the male component, in the housing (40) and studs (62) are provided interacting with notches in the female component, on the bearing face (60). <IMAGE>
