The invention relates to an item of knitwear knitted on a three guide-bar loom, of gauge greater than or equal to 32; it includes three multi-strand (multi-ply) yarns, each strand of which is at least 1.5 dtex; the yarn of the second guide bar is a weft yarn which is inserted between the first and third yarns without being knitted to them. The numerical representation of the weave pattern, is, for example: I II III 1 0 b 0 0 b+1 - - - a x 1 a+1 x 0 in which a is equal to 1 or 2, b is equal to 2 or 3, and x is equal to or greater than 2, preferably 3, 4, 5 or 6 for a gauge of 40. For example, the first and third yarns are made of flat polyester 25 dtex/22 strands and the second yarn is made of textured polyester with high elasticity 50 dtex/40 strands. The wrong side of the piece of knitwear is preferably abrasive (rough).
