PURPOSE:To maintain durability of a bump stopper in time dependent use by providing a bellows-like expansible part having alternately crests and roots contiguous to each other between fixed and free ends on the axis of a main body and forming the crest of a straight part parallel to the axis and tapered part having an inclination. CONSTITUTION:A bump stopper 10 has a fixed end 12 and free end 13 axially of a main body 11, and an elastically expansible bellow-like expansion part 14 is provided between these both ends 12, 13. When a rod abuts against the free end 13, the whole main body 11 is elastically deformed by a force F of the rod about the expansion part 14. The expansion part 14 has contiguously straight parts 15a having the length (a) parallel to the axis and tapered parts 15b having the length (b) inclined by an angle beta. In such elastic deformation, the radial expansion is lessened by the action of both parts 15a, 15b, and the outer diameter D of the original main body 11 is not so different from that D1 of the expanded one that the main body is expanded uniformly orderly. Thus, the satisfactory durability can be maintained by the time dependent use. |
