An arrangement for measuring belt tension contains a press. bolt (1) subjected to a defined spring force whose spring (2) has a first spring characteristic. The press. bolt is movable in a housing with a contact edge (6) forming a fixed point and carries one or more markings (4) for a permitted tolerance range and a pin acting as a rotation preventer. The bolt can contact the belt at a fixed edge or movably via a roller with the contact edge in adjustable form. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement enables belt tensions to be measured very accurately under workshop conditions, e.g. during manufacture or servicing of vehicle engines.
