The extruded metal section (1) is used for constructing the frame of a door or a window. It has at least one transverse wall (8) with a tubular middle part (10). The glass panes are supported in the longitudinal slots on either sode of this transverse wall. The glass panes are sealed with sealing strips which fit in grooves (12c, 13c). The horizontal members (5) of the window frame are secured to the vertical members by long screws which are inserted into the bore of the tubular middle part (10) of the transverse wall (8).
