A system for introducing a cable (11) into a cable duct (12) and at the same time for laying the cable duct (12) containing the cable (11) underground has a device (43, 44) for continuously introducing the cable into the cable duct (12), where sheath is open on one side in this area of the system, and a device for continuously joining the opposite marginal zones of the open cable duct (12), once the cable (11) has been introduced therein. The cable (12) duct is provided at its mutually opposite marginal zones with interlocking elements that extend over the whole length of the cable duct and that can be sealingly interlocked by the continuously joining device (51). The cable duct, which is provided with a cable while it is laid, need not therefore enclose the cable and can be directly laid underground while its inner space is hermetically sealed.
