<p>The machine tool chuck minimizes deformations of workpieces, and enhances chucking precision. The chuck comprises a plurality of division jaws (26) equidistantly split in a radial direction, a collect jaw (25) clamping the circumferential face of the workpiece, a tapered jaw (11) putting a pressure on the collet jaw (25) by axially moving the tappered jaw in contact with the sloped ends of the division jaws (26), a fixed housing (5) having an oil pressure chamber (7) connected to a port, a plate (10) being pressed by the oil pressure generated from the chamber (7), a slide plunger moving the tapered jaw (11) in an axial direction and a release means (15) having an elastic member (19) at the rear of the tapered jaw (11).</p> |
