A sheet metal suspension device (1) for the inverted T-shaped supporting rail (5) of a false ceiling has a vertical supporting shaft (2) from which two suspension arms (12) extend downwards. The suspension arms (12) lie on both sides of an upper profiled expanded portion (6) of the supporting rail (5). Support tongues (14) carrying the profiled expanded portion (6) extend upwardly at an angle to each other from the lower end sections (13) of the suspension arms (12).
