PURPOSE:To shorten the time of an analysis of the cause of a fault by detecting the occurrence of the fault, registering the state of hardware at the time of the fault in a log-out file, and analyzing the fault by referring to a fault dictionary. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with an initial setting means 40, fault detecting means 30 and 46, a fault signal receiving means 41, a log-out means 42, a fault analyzing means 43, an input/output control means 44, and a system set value varying means 47. Then scan-path trouble or device fault is detected in the initial setting process of the information processing system and the hardware state at the time of the fault occurrence is logged in the log-out file 50; and the hardware state stored in the log-out file 50 is collated with the fault dictionary 50 to point out a fault maintenance replacement unit. Consequently, the analytic time for the cause of the fault occurring during the initialization is shortened, and consequently the recovery time is shortened. |
