PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the mechanical strength and electrical connection of the connecting section of a dummy device to a bus by taking out a functioning means incorporated in the dummy device (in-circuit emulator) of a central processing unit and directly coupling the means with the bus. CONSTITUTION:A copying memory 5, copying program 6, and controlling section 7 are those which have been incorporated in the conventional dummy device. A central processing unit 1 copies the software to be tested stored in a system memory 2 in the copying memory 5 in accordance with a copying program 6. Then the unit 1 allocates the address of the memory 5 to the address position of the memory 2 in an overlapped state. After allocating the address, the unit 1 executes the software to be tested copied in the memory 5 by switching the controlling section 7. Therefore, the deterioration of the mechanical strength and electrical connection of the connecting section of the dummy device to a bus is prevented, since the means which have been incorporated in the conventional dummy device are always directly connected with the bus. |
