<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the abrasion of a magnetic tape by changing the contact pressure between a tape cleaner and the magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic tape 1 travels in a right and left direction keeping the tension to a predetermined value, and the recording or the reproduction of data is executed by a magnetic head 2. At that time, the tape 1 is pressed against the cleaner 3 by the pressure determined according to positional relation between the tape cleaner 3 and a guide 4 and the tension of the tape 1. One end of the cleaner 3 is formed into a nut, and a lead screw 5 is coupled to this nut part. Accordingly, when a motor 6 is driven, the screw 5 is rotated, and the cleaner 3 is moved to the thickness direction of the tape 1. The control part of a tape device drives the motor 6 in response to a control signal so as to move the cleaner forward or backward. The contact pressure between the cleaner 3 and the tape 1 is increased by the forward movement of the cleaner, and is decreased by the backward movement of it. Thus, the dust removing ability can be raised without accelerating the abrasion of the magnetic tape.</p> |
