Gas is drawn from wells, with the temp. of the gas from each well being measured. The temp. is used as a measure of the amt. of gas which may be drawn from a well without there being an adverse effect on the process of gas prodn. in the well. A temp. meter is placed in the flow of gas from each well and is typically read once a week, or may be passed by cable or other means to a central point for continuous monitoring. The gas temp. may be used to manually or automatically control the flow of gas. An alarm can be arranged to be activated on the occurrence of an increased temp. indicating the need to reduce the gas flow. The method typically uses cement ring wells, horizontal tube conduits and gas collecting domes, a control chamber to control the gas flow, a gas furnace, a gas fan and a microprocessor for overall control.
