PURPOSE:To raise the printability of a heat-sensitive paper as well as to finish the coated surface of the paper into a mat tone by finishing the coated surface of the heat-sensitive paper by using a hard roughening roll having a surface roughness of 2-20mu. CONSTITUTION:The coated surface of a heat-sensitive paper, coated with a composition containing a colorless or light color dye precursor and a developer, together with an inorganic and organic pigments, a binder, a surfactant, a wax, etc., which are added to prevent the sticking of dust to facsimile head, is roughened by applying a hard roughening roll of a surface roughness of 2-20mu, specified by JISB- 0651, by a sand blasting method, an etching method, etc., in such a way as to make the surface of the heat-sensitive paper a mat tone, thereby raising the printability of the paper by thermal head. Also, when the heat-sensitive paper is passed through a calender, a roll facing the roughening roll or touched by the back side of the paper may be roughened or made of a comparatively soft material. |
