PURPOSE:To select a distance measuring visual field section speedily by detecting the quantity of rotation on two axes passing the spherical core of a spherical section selection member, and calculating the direction where the selected section is present and its direction from the outputs and outputting them to a focus frame display means. CONSTITUTION:When the section selection member 21 is at an upper position, a focus frame 27 is displayed at a center part as shown by a dotted line. For focusing on a person in the right of a picture plane, the member 21 while slightly pressed down against the elastic force of a coil spring 23 is rotated in the direction. Then rotational quantity detection members 13 and 14 detect the quantity of rotation in an X and a Y direction and an arithmetic circuit calculates the direction and quantity of the rotation of the member 21 from the quantities of rotation in both the directions and outputs a signal specifying the position to a decoder for dividing distance measuring field section. Consequently, the frame 27 is displayed at the position where the person present as shown by a solid line. When the member is further pressed down, contacts 25 and 26 contact each other and a release switch 24 is turned ON. |
