The thrust bearing cage accommodates cylindrical rollers, and is made from a flat strip bent into a ring, with rigid pockets enclosing the rollers on all sides. The pockets are joined to each other by ductile intermediate portions. When bent into the finished shape the strip (3) is provided with additional rings (5) for increased stiffness in the peripheral direction. Typically these rings are provided at the pocket ends. These rings can be of U-section, fitting round the pocket ends, or alternatively round and fitting in grooves in the latter. PS. |
