<p>Active brazing metals that can join ceramic members mutually or a ceramic member and a metallic member to each other with high joint strength and improved availability can be provided in various shapes such as plate or wire, even when a metal of poor ductility is used as a raw material of the brazing metals. The jointing metals are a roughened substrate and a layer thereon of a metal of higher melting point which has a smaller standard free energy of reaction with the main non-metal element of the ceramics. The thickness ratio of the layer to substrate is in the range 0.005-0.1.</p> |
