A pipe is described, which can be used especially as a transverse shaft, an expanding shaft or the like. Of sandwich design, it consists of an inner jacket (1, 2) and an outer jacket (4, 5, 6) of the fabric impregnated with artificial resin, which enclose between them a centre layer (3) of a honeycomb material. The pipe is distinguished especially by a low weight although it has load capacity corresponding to that of conventional steel pipes.
