PURPOSE:To use easily formable magnetic particles and to permit multi-color display by controlling colloidal liquids formed of two sets, etc., of magnetic particles which are different in Curie point and coloration by prescribed heating and magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:The colloidal liquids 12 prepd. by adding the magnetic particles 10 which are respectively different in the Curie point and coloration to a colored soln. 11 are sealed in respective display chambers 10 of a magnetic panel 17. A heating element 20 is moved along the rear surfaces of the chambers 10 corresponding to the display of such panel 17 to heat the surface to the intermediate temp. between the Curie points of both magnetic elements. Then, the particles 10 of one kind lose the magnetism and the coloration display by the particles 10 of the other kind is executed according to the magnetic field by a magnetization means 19 of a writing means on the front side of the panel. The display is erased when the means 19 is operated from the rear side of the panel 17. The multi-color display is thus executed by using the easily formable magnetic particles.
